The professional

Michelle has experience in office management, reception skills, HR and customer service. She had intended to start her career as a corporate travel consultant, but after tertiary education fell into the role of office manager for a branch of an international scaffolding and machinery firm. After deciding to go travelling, she ended up living in Dublin for a year working for an online poker website as their corporate bodies receptionist. Once her visa expired, she returned to NZ and worked for the government learning the HR ropes.

She has now come back to the private sector and is enjoying learning everything she can about usability and finding new ways to improve Optimal’s systems.

Qualifications: Advanced Diploma in Tourism, Travel and Business

The person

Meeting new people and travelling the world is a main priority, but obviously due to cost she has to space it out a bit... Friends and family are an important part of Michelle’s life, with a large extended family and friends all over the world! Music in general is a must, as are movies and reading, and Michelle is always interested in learning new things. She is really looking forward starting to her new hip-hop dancing lessons as a new form of exercise she can actually enjoy.
