The professional
Caroline enjoys a passion for technologies that integrate into their user’s environment and lifestyle sympathetically while providing a positive emotional experience. With a strong trust that observing users throughout the development cycle is the key to identifying requirements based on real-world needs, Caroline believes that people are the ultimate resource when looking for insights that lead to design innovation and effective solutions development.
Caroline comes from a website design and analysis background and has a strong understanding in the disciplines of online marketing, search engine optimisation and web analytics. Caroline returned to the University of Auckland to enhance her knowledge in the areas of usability and user-centred design completing a 3rd year Human Computer Interaction paper in 2007.
Since then Caroline has worked as an independent Usability Consultant for ARW Group Ltd and became a permanent member of the Optimal Usability team in November 2008. Since joining Caroline has been involved with a variety of projects with deliverables that include expert reviews, persona creation, conceptual designs, wireframe designs, prototypes and design validation via user testing, Key clients include Vodafone, Air New Zealand, ASB, the Ministry of Economic Development and Sovereign Insurance..
The person
Having settled into a semi-rural location just North of Auckland with partner Rob, Caroline tries to take advantage of all that the surrounding districts have to offer including the home-cooked goodies at local cafes, local art and artists, awesome scenery, stunning golf courses, and an abundant supply of fresh fruit and veggies and a continuous stream of house guests. Attempting to peel, pickle, preserve, and jar everything in sight keeps Caroline out of trouble (mostly) and her latest adventure is learning how to make fresh cheese.
